I hope I'm wrong but my growing suspicion is that Boris Johnson will not commitment to future furloughs. Why? Because it implicitly concedes the possibility of further national lockdowns in England beyond December 2nd, which is anathema to a growing number of Tory ideologues.

The UK Government has presided over 48 hours of confusion and contradiction on the question of whether furlough will be available in future for Scotland so that an announcement could be made in response to a question from a backbench Tory MP. And we're still not any clearer 👇
